This machine had been in my grandfather's office in Berlin since the First World War.
In the Second World War it survived the bombing of Berlin as well as the capture and occupation of the city by the Russians.
It had come to my father when typewriters were scarce.
I typed on it until it was superceded by a more modern machine.
It was then passed on to my son, where it remained a treasure souvenir until 2011 - nearly a century in our family!
Then it passed on to the museum.
